How well has your "Rahmouni brace" worked for you

(sorry for writing this in English, my German is not very good, but I can read it so you can answer in German, hopefully one of the friendly administrators can translate this message into German)

I live in the UK and have a 11 year old daughter with a 29 degree scoliosis, for which she is being treated with a brace.

I have seen the figures quoted in this forum about inital curve and correction using a Rahmouni and they surely look very impressive.

Howeever, what I would like to find out is whether medium to longer term results are similarly good and I would be grateful if you use or have used a Rahmouni brace if you could give the following information.

1) curve when bracing started
2) initial correction in the brace
3) how many years have you used the brace for and whether you are still using it
4) what is your curve now in and or out of the brace

I also would be grateful for any comments you could about how comfortable the brace was for you and how easy it was to hide underneath your clothes, as these will be important factors in our decision as well

Please include bad experiences as well

Ich habe entdeckt, dass die Abbildungen hier im Forum vom Krümmungswinkel zu Beginn und die Korrektur mit einem Rahmouni sehr beeindruckend sind.

Ich würde jedoch gern wissen, ob mittel- bis langfristige (Korrektur)Ergebnisse ähnlich gut sind, und ich wäre dankbar, wenn du ein Korsett trägst oder getragen hast, mir folgende Informationen liefern könntest:

1) Krümmungswinkel (ohne Korsett) zu Beginn der Korsetttherapie
2) Krümmungswinkel im Korsett zu Beginn der Korsetttherapie
3) wieviele Jahre du das Korsett getragen hast und ob du es noch trägst
4) wieviel Grad du jetzt im und/oder ohne Korsett hast

Ich wäre auch dankbar für jeden Kommentar, wie bequem du das Korsett empfunden hast und wie leicht es dir fiel, es unter der Kleidung zu verstecken, denn das sind für uns ebenfalls wichtige Entscheidungskriterien (pro und contra eines Rahmouni-Korsetts).

Bitte auch schlechte Erfahrungen.

to 4. well, at the moment I have no picture of my scoliosis without the brace

1) 26° and 62° (I was 13 - almost 14)
2) 0° (? - not sure) and 20°
3) I have my brace since dec. 03, which means I'm wearing it for 1.5 years and I'll wear it for a few more years ..
4)
13 years old: 26°/62°
15 years old (now): 21°/50° (after 48 h without the brace)

At the beginning, the brace isn't comfortable. It was hard to wear it the whole day, but now, it's ok. It doesn't really hurt, but it's not always comfortable.
About the clothes: it's not a big problem. I can hide it well - ask BZebra, Tomma or Sabi, they've seen me with my brace and with my clothes. Sometimes my friends ask me whether I'm wearing it or not

my english is really bad, but I'll try to answer your questions:

1) 21° and 37° (17 years)
2) 14° and 12°
3) I have my brace since dec. 03
4) 17° and 23° (two weaks without the brace)

I would say, that at the beginning the brace wasn't very comfortable but now I sometimes think it's really nice. It's a good feeling to be straight.

I can wear cloths over my brace so that my own mother won't see if I am wearing it. if you take yourself the time for searching, it is absolutely possible to find good clothes under which one can hide the brace!

sorry that I dont answer by e-mail.

At first the brace isnt comfortable. But after a time, you wont know anymore if you are wearing your brace or not if you dont look under your clothes *g*.

The brace is good to hide, but I am always looking like a cupboard.

I dont know when my next x-ray is. My OMM said I will see my doctor in october, but he said (because I asked) that I wont be x-raid in october.
