Dear France!
No matter where in Germany you live, the best bracemakers according to this very well informed forum are either Rahmouni in Stuttgart (works close together with Dr. Hoffmann in Leonberg) or Klaus Nahr in Berlin. A Nahr-Brace you can also get in Bad Sobernheim, Asklepios Katharina-Schroth-Klinik, where he is helping out 2 days a week.
Best wishes!

Thank you.
So do many Germans travel to these places especially as the 'centres of excellence'??? How about the actual orthopaedic scoliosis specialists in Germany. Are there also many of these???
We live in Germany but Im just trying to decide whether my daughter should get her future treatment here or the UK. The language barrier is really difficult for us you see regarding medical terminolgoy. And Im not convinced her current orthotist is any good. It took 12 weeks to make and they made in it in the wrong colour/pattern (which she did not choose and absolutely hated). Then they had to make an adjustment as it was not achieving any correction and we still do not know whether it is as she has not been x-rayed since the adjustment! I find this ridiculous.
Thanks for your help,
frances

Re: Can Anyone Recommend An Orthosis Maker Near Gutersloh???
Dear frances!
There are some other recommended doctors and surgical clinics near Gütersloh... Click here and you will see a page with some adresses. I think the following would be the best near by your home!
St. Franziskus-Hospital Münster
Universitätsklinikum Münster
St. Marien-Hospital Mühlheim an der Ruhr
I'm not sure, if this are only surgical clinics... But I think, that you can get there also an conservative therapy!
Otherwise, the tips of Hanti are very well!
Best wishes!
Bettina

It's a pitty that here in Germany there are also only a few realy qulified Orthopedic Technicians and Ortopedics. Most of the OTs only produce plastic garbagde, but for example Rahmouni in Stuttgart (together with Dr. Hoffmann in Leonberg) and Klaus Nahr in Berlin are producing really excellent corsets, I would believe, even better ones than you can get in UK.France hat geschrieben:So do many Germans travel to these places especially as the 'centres of excellence'??? I would give them a try. And I believe, they are both also quit good in speaking your language! Make a phonecall and you will see!
If you have further questions feel free to contact me via PN!
Best Regards!

Hello France,
welcome to this forum, but first of all, please excuse my poor english skills
. I absolutely agree with Hanti. Many people in Germany travel to Rahmouni and Nahr. I also know that Rahmouni often has patients from other countries as well.
If you will decide for a Rahmouni-Brace you can go to Dr. Hoffmann, he works together with Rahmouni. Mr. Nahr works in a hospital in Berlin, there he works together with doctors from this hospital.
I wouldn´t go to the UK for a better treatment, all we know here is that it even is worse than in Germany. But you can´t find any better treatment than a Rahmouni- or a Nahr-Brace.
@BlümchenRose: Die Erfahrungen hier im Forum mit der konservativen Therapie in Münster sind mehr als schlecht.
Best wishes,
Minimine

Vielen Danke for all your help so far. It is excellent being able to speak to people in Germany who know about where to go for treatment. I have been feeling so helpless.
I have asked general questions about treatment on a UK forum but obviously the people there only know about the UK. The information you have all given me is priceless - SO VIELEN DANKE Wieder (not sure if that makes sense?)
Schones Wochenende

I agree that it's difficult to talk about specific things like scoliosis treatment in another language, but maybe hou have someone who can come with you and translate for you? But then again, I'm convinced the recommended doctors and brace-makers speak enough English to explain everything to you and also answer your questions. The language barrier is really difficult for us you see regarding medical terminolgoy.
